The Scottish Half Marathon coincided with Christopher’s 50th birthday and was the perfect challenge for him. But he wasn’t just running for himself, his retirement was triggered by his mum who had a bad fall and his father who has been suffering from Alzheimer’s for nine years, so it was his way of saying he was finally home to care for them. On top of all of this – Chris was also raising funds for the Official Charity of the Scottish Half Marathon + 10K – Cancer Research UK.
We caught up with Chris after the race who said:
“Here’s a smiley face after the house of pain on Sunday! Young mind trying to cash cheques with an old body!”
Well done Chris on an incredible achievement for an incredible cause!
