The route is seriously flat & rapid – if you want to set a personal best for a half marathon, then this is the event for you. Starting conveniently at 11am just outside Edinburgh, you will run along the magnificent East Lothian Golf Coast before finishing in the final furlong at Musselburgh Racecourse; Scotland’s oldest racecourse.

Scottish Half Marathon Bus Service

  • The parking locations serviced by the event shuttle bus are Queen Margaret University, Musselburgh Grammar School and Wallyford Park & Ride. There is no charge at these three locations.
  • An Event Bus service will operate between the parking locations and the start at Meadowmill Sports Centre before the race, and from the finish at Musselburgh Racecourse back to the parking locations after the race.
  • The bus also takes spectators from the start at Meadowmill Sports Centre, to the finish at Musselburgh Racecourse.
  • Please note that there is no parking available at Meadowmill Sports Centre.
  • It is in your best interests to get the earliest bus possible as this will reduce crowding and waiting time.
  • The Event Bus service will operate from 08:15 to 16:00 and will cease servicing the Start area at Meadowmill Sports Centre at 11:20.
  • All bus tickets will be checked before you get on the bus. Please have them ready to show on a print-out or on your phone.
  • For the best price tickets, please purchase in advance from our online shop. There may be some tickets available for purchase on the day of the event however these will be significantly more expensive.
